Douglas County is located just south of the Denver Metropolitan area. For many years it was best known for its wide open spaces and western lifestyleranchettes. These homes are usually horse properties located in rural areas with mountain views and often with ponderosa pine trees and scrub oak naturally landscaping the properties. These more rural-feeling communities are less than 30 minutes to the Denver Technology Center (DTC) and less than 50 minutes to Denver International Airport (DIA).

Recently, true suburban communities have begun to spring up in the Castle Rock and Douglas County area. These communities generally offer brand new and newer homes for a lesser price tag than communities closer to Denver. These communities include The Meadows, Sapphire Point, Diamond Ridge, Stroh’s Ranch, Clark Farms, Canterberry, The Pinery, The Timbers, Castle Pines North, Daniel’s Gate, and Bell Mountain Ranch. Real estate in these areas can range from $200,000 to $1,000,000.
