After WWII, Denver experienced quite a housing boom.Veterans came in droves, with their VA loan benefits in hand, to buy Denver homes. Local builders obliged by building a lot of homes in neighborhoods like Mayfair. Thus, the predominant architecture is 1940´s and 1950´s ranch style homes. These modest homes are complimented with several larger newer homes built by the same builders who have recently been performing "scrape offs" in nearby neighborhood. Recently, these builders have ventured into Mayfair because the cost of land is less expensive there

This neighborhood is particularly popular for modestly priced homes that are convenient to the nearby University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Rose Hospital and National Jewish Hospital. Lindsley Park is located on Hale Parkway and has a flower garden, playground and room for picnics and joggers. There are also several nearby restaurants including fine dining at Corky´s and Solera.
Mayfair is located south of Colfax and north of 6th Avenue from Colorado to Holly. The commute to downtown Denver is 15 minutes and to the nearby Cherry Creek shopping center it´s only 5 minutes away.
