Congress Park is named for the Denver park bearing the name. It has tennis courts and a public pool facility along with fields for soccer and baseball.
Interestingly, that park used to be a Denver cemetery around the turn of the last
Century. Don’t worry. Most of the remains have been removed. But, it took act of the United States Congress to allow for the cemetery to be converted to a park. In gratitude, Denver named this place "Congress Park".
Congress Park is also very convenient to the Denver Botanic Gardens, Capitol Hill, and the Denver hospital areas. Commuting to downtown Denver is less than 15 minutes.
Denver real estate here is less expensive the further north you moveaway from Cherry Creek Shopping Center area.
Congress Park is within easy walking distance to nearby Botanic Gardens. It offers a stunning variety of plants and flowers. Summer concerts are a favorite event held there in the evenings.
Congress Park is also near Cheesman Park. Cheesman Park has a street running though the large park making for easy access and parking. It has beautiful flower beds and a band shell area. Homes there tend to be even older with Victorian stylings. The exclusive "Humboldt Island" is an historic area which has several "Grand Old Ladies" from that bygone era. Unlike Congress Park, apartments and condominiums are ubiquitous in the Cheesman Park area.
