On the track team in college, John ran a respectable race in Boulder’s very first Bolder Boulder in 1979, the local internationally acclaimed 10k road race. He continues to work out (almost!) every day, a discipline offering him the ability to continue to enjoy so many of the lifelong outdoor interests Colorado has to offer- camping, hiking, skiing, golfing, and taking the time to gaze at the wondrous beautiful Colorado mountain scenery. John loves to share his hands on knowledge of the county: how Peaceful Valley seemed so very far away, and is now a popular camping and picnic sight, how skiing at Eldora was free at night(…but hardly any light!), and how there was nothing but farmland where the current, popular 29th Street Mall now stands.
