Lobsterfest In Niwot, Colorado
by Paula King, Niwot Real Estate Expert
It is that time of year again. Throughout Colorado, communities come together in the summer for concerts, parades, parties and festivals. Now, this may seem like an oddity. But, last Saturday, Niwot celebrated its annual Lobster Bash. Yes, it was old fashioned lobster clambake in cowboy country!
This year, the local Maine Connection flew in 600 lobsters and downtown Niwot’s main artery became one big dining room. There was music and dancing on a picture perfect night. Most of all there was a great community feeling. Niwot is not just another Denver suburb. It is a real community with people who value celebrating with each other!
I got together with friends and clients and we brought our own china and side dishes. Flowers on the table - quite the experience. I ran into Suzanne from Illinois who was in town for a reunion and staying at the Niwot Inn. She joined our table. It turns out her husband’s family homesteaded the area.
Farmers Markets have also opened up everywhere. The Boulder Farmer’s Market is one of the best. It is held Saturday from 10 - 2 and then again Wednesday from 4 - 7.
So, it is time to get out and find what is happening around town. There are no excuses in and around Denver. Every weekend can be a new adventure.
